May’s such a happy month isn’t it? Full of the promise of flowers and fluffy clouds and asparagus and not wearing a coat and wearing shoes instead of boots. And the Lake District just comes alive in the most beautiful way. We almost always eat seasonally. It’s cheaper, usually tastier and makes me feel a little bit more connected to nature in as little a hippy way as is possible. I’ve LOVED the recent Marks and Spencer offer on asparagus (if you pick the thick stemmed Hertfordshire asparagus it’s £3 for 400g!!) and I’ve even got back into broad beans, which I don’t think I’ve ever bought as an adult.

Monday – Sausages, Mash, Broccoli and Peas. Haven’t had sausages for ages, or mash for that matter so I’m really looking forward to this, augmented with lots of veggies.
Tuesday – ABC Pasta (Asparagus, Broccoli and Chive Pasta) I can’t TELL you how good this is. Fresh pasta and lots of parmesan please.
Wednesday – Home made pizza (recipe coming soon)
Thursday – A tricky one as we’re both out for the evening, but might not have time to eat…might be a sandwich on the hoof.
Friday – Grilled chicken with homemade flatbreads and Storecupboard Pea and Lemon Dip.
Saturday – Mezze Dinner (my favourite) of roast lamb, hummus, and more Pea and Lemon Dip if there’s any left.
Sunday – Leftovers from whatever’s left from the week.
Monday – Scrambled Eggs with Asparagus (love being off on a Monday 🙂 )
Tuesday – Pan Con Tomate (although without the wine, as I’ll be back at work)
Wednesday – More tomato bread I think 🙂
Thursday – Hummus and Crackers
Friday – Hummus and Crackers
Saturday – Scrambled Eggs and Tomatoes
Sunday – Ploughman’s Lunch of pork pies and pickled onions 🙂
