One of those mornings where we both sprang out of bed and wanted to me outside. Quite rare that those days coincide, and it made me happy. I love it when we can get out first thing on Saturday morning. It blows away the cobwebs from the night before, and really helps me shake off the stressy faffs of the week. We donned our outdoor gear and headed off into the mist.
Which was quite beautiful, as it turned out. We went to a quiet patch of the Forest of Bowland, and didn’t see a soul, except a snake! Yup – a real snake, frozen with fright, on our path – weird! Not quite sure what species, but here’s snakey:
I got a bit of a shock, and went to look at this lovely view instead:
Isn’t that beautiful? The mist had cloaked everywhere in a strange stillness, so it was really quiet up there on the moor. Lovely to get away from it all, and lovely to see the countryside with such gorgeous colours 🙂
