Nothing better than a walk after work to clear away the nonsensical irritations of the day. Why is it that at work little things – irrelevant things – seem so important, yet get away from work for a while and they just melt away? Quite often I go for a wander down the canal in the middle of the day at work – it’s just down the road. I don’t take my bag or my phone – I just wander off, listen to the ducks and the trees and try to relax. Actually though, trying to relax is probably one of the worst ways of actually becoming relaxed. Usually my head’s buzzing as I leave the building and there’s not much I can do about it, but I almost always find that on my return I’m calm. Or at least, calmer.
Above is a little snap of the sun setting over at Levens, not far from where we live. It’s a lovely little valley, partly owned by Levens Hall and perfect for an after work ramble. We saw deer, grouse and little bunnies bopping over the field. Lovely.
