As everyone is now saying – Spring has sprung! Well…it has! It’s not so much that I love Spring (although there’s a lot to be said for crocuses, asparagus, sunshine and wearing a thinner coat) – I just like the start of all the new seasons. Although I’m a grown up now I still feel like the summer term’s on it’s way at this time of year – all strawberries, fairs and the smell of cut grass. It all got me in the mood for a bit of lemonade, and was also a good break from a glass of wine before dinner, which has been creeping in with worrying frequency lately.
I suggest the following recipe more of a guide – I like lemonade quite sharp, so just adjust the sugar levels according to taste.
(makes 1 litre)
juice of 8 lemons
125g granulated sugar
1 litre sparkling water
1. Mix the lemon juice with the sugar.
2. Add the sparkling water.
2. Sieve (if you like) and pour into a jug.
